“When it comes to food – the tougher the challenge, the better the taste.”
After four massively successful seasons of a National Geographic television show, Kiran Jethwa is well on his way to becoming Kenya’s first celebrity chef. Kiran combines his natural culinary flare with a love for adventure and thrill seeking in Tales from the bush larder which has now aired in over 65 countries.
Kiran is also the chef and owner of Nairobi’s premier culinary company, Seven Restaurants, Ltd. which includes Seafood and Grill and Seven Lounge and Grill, Nairobi’s finest dining.
Kiran also has a production company, Quite Bright Films, which produced his award-winning shows and is the director and creator of The Kenya Good Food Company, Kenya’s leading producer of pre-packaged meals.
With an English mother and an Indian father, Kiran developed his cross-continental, cross-cultural palate early. After completing his Bachelor’s in Hospitality management in Manchester, he travelled all over the world– from Australia, to Italy, to South America– moulding his skills as a chef and broadening his culinary repertoire.
Tales from the Bush Larder was awarded the prestigious Best T.V Show at the 2014 Kenyan Kalasha Awards. His new series, The Fearless Chef produced for Fox International Channels promises to be riveting as Kiran Jethwa traverses the globe harvest the world’s rarest of ingredients in the most extreme of circumstances.
